Privacy Policy

What this site collects, who else sees it, and the two things that never leave your machine.

Last updated 30 July 2026

The short version

  • Nothing you paste into the free tools is uploaded. The YAML beautifier, validator, and linter run entirely in your browser. Your manifests are never transmitted, logged, or stored.
  • OpsKit itself sends us nothing about your cluster. The installed kit runs locally against your own credentials. It has no telemetry and no phone-home.
  • This site does use analytics and one advertising pixel, listed in full below.

Who is responsible

[LEGAL ENTITY NAME], of [REGISTERED ADDRESS], is the data controller for runopskit.com. Contact: support@runopskit.com.

What the free tools do with your data

The tools at runopskit.com/tools are client-side JavaScript. When you paste a manifest, parse it, lint it, or download the result, all of that happens inside your browser tab. There is no server call carrying the content, and there is no "save" on our side. Closing the tab discards it.

This is verifiable rather than a promise: open your browser's network tab, paste a manifest, and watch. No request carries it.

What we collect

When you visit

Standard web request data — page URL, referrer, approximate country, device and browser type, and performance timings — via Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights. This is pageview-level and is not used to build a cross-site profile of you.

When you buy

Your name, email address, billing country, and payment details go to Polar, who process the payment as merchant of record. We receive the order record — including your email address — so we can deliver the licence and provide support. We never receive or store your card details.

When you email us

We keep the correspondence so we can help you and refer back to it. Nothing more.

Advertising

The site loads the X (Twitter) conversion pixel on every page, and fires a purchase-completed event on the success page that includes the Polar checkout reference. This exists to measure advertising, not to operate the product. If you block third-party scripts, the site works normally without it.

Who else processes your data

ProcessorPurposeData
PolarPayment processing and licence deliveryName, email address, billing country, payment detailsCard details are entered on Polar's hosted checkout. They never reach runopskit.com.
GitHubDelivery of the purchased repositoryGitHub username or the email you buy with, to send the repository invitationRequired to grant access to the private OpsKit repository.
VercelHosting, plus Web Analytics and Speed InsightsPage URL, referrer, country, device and browser type, performance timingsAggregated and pageview-level. It does not use cookies to track you across sites, and it does not receive anything you type into the free tools.
X (Twitter)Advertising measurementPageview events, and a purchase-completed event carrying the Polar checkout referenceLoaded on every page via the X conversion pixel. This is the one tracker on the site that exists for advertising rather than operations.

Cookies

We set no cookies of our own, and there is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to on our side. Vercel Analytics is cookieless. The X pixel may set its own storage when it loads; blocking third-party scripts prevents this and breaks nothing.

How long we keep things

  • Analytics: retained by Vercel under their retention policy, in aggregate.
  • Order records: kept for as long as needed to support your licence and to meet tax and accounting obligations.
  • Support email: kept while it's useful, then deleted.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal data we hold about you, and to object to processing. Email support@runopskit.com and we'll action it. If you're in the UK or EU and unhappy with the response, you can complain to your data protection authority.

Note that we hold very little: an order record and possibly an email thread. There is no account, no profile, and no record of anything you did in the free tools.

Children

OpsKit is a professional tool and is not directed at anyone under 16.

Changes

If this policy changes, the version here is updated along with the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we handle your data, we'll say so clearly rather than quietly editing the page.
